Lalitha Kailas, Head of Paediatrics SAT Hospital,Dr Susan Uthup from paediatrics dept SAT Hopsital,Dr Babu George from Child Developmental centre ,SAT Hospital,Dr Anju Deepak from PRS Hospital will be examining the children born after infertility treatment.Dr Manosh Karun will be coordinating the assessment study.A public meeting follows which will be attended by eminent personalities in all walks of life.

The annual workshop conducted by KJK hospital ,this time on Ultrasound in OBGYN and Gynaec practice on Dec 5th was a grand success,nearly 60 delegates from Kerala and adjoining states attended this live workshop,Dr IndraniSuresh demonstrated the use of USG in measuring nuchal fold thickness, also highlighted 11-14 weeks scan
and Foetal echocardiography.Dr Chander lulla from Jaslok hospital Mumbai highlighted the importance of doing foetal anomaly scan and demonstrated 3D pictures of septate uterus,submucous fibroid pressing on to the endometrium and a complex ovarian mass.There was a active interaction with the delegates.Dr Retnakumari,Radiologist from KIMS inaugurated the workshop and Dr Santha Madhavan presided over the meeting.Dr K Jayakrishnan welcomed the delegates and faculty.

KJK Hospital has acheived 33% pregnancy rate till Dec 2002 for IVF and ICSI and 77% take home baby rate .
Congrats to each member of the team for the joint effort.
Most common indication was for Tubal factor(34 case)Male factor (32 cases) and Endometriosis (31 cases).655 oocytes were retreived and 352 fertilized.332 Embryos were transferred.13 patients have delivered and 14 pregnancies are continuing.

| FIRST ICSI BABY OF S KERALA BORN AT KJK HOSPITAL |

The capitals first Intracytoplasmic sperm injection baby was born on 14 th Jan at 9.46am at KJK Hospital.Dr Jayakrishnan conducted the Caesarean section and was assisted by Dr Bindu,Dr Rafeekha and Anaesthesiologist Dr Prema Bai.The baby weighed 2.5kg and both mother and baby are fine.
